Disappointed with Amazon’s Handling of Super Paper Mario Pre-Order

Last month, I was excited to find out that Super Paper Mario for the Wii was coming out on my birthday. I pre-ordered it from Amazon to ensure that I would get it as soon as it came out, without having to go to a store.

This pre-order has been plagued by delay after delay. Just when it seemed like I would get the game on 4/12, I got an email this morning saying that the order was delayed further, so that I wouldn’t get it until 4/17.

If this were a supply problem beyond Amazon’s control, I could totally understand it. What upsets me is that my order is in limbo. This is the status of the order:

Shipping Soon We are preparing these items for shipment and this portion of your order cannot be canceled or changed.

Well, obviously, it’s NOT shipping soon. Amazon won’t let me cancel the order so I can get the game elsewhere… sooner. That totally sux0rs.

I’m usually satisfied with Amazon, especially after signing up with Amazon Prime. My items tended to arrive earlier than the estimated delivery date, even when I had free shipping. They’ve been good with exchanges. However, now that I really want something that I have been eagerly anticipating, they let me down. :(
