Super Paper Mario for the Wii will be available on my birthday, April 9. I just preordered it from Amazon. I could get it cheaper from Costco but then it might sell out and who knows when I can get it.
Admittedly, I wasn’t interested in the game until tonight. I saw the word Paper in the title and thought it involved paper cutouts or something. I just learned that it’s a side scroller Mario game, which is just what I wanted.
When I first saw Mario Galaxy, it looked amazing, but after playing a couple of 3D games, I don’t know if it’s the game for me. Although I enjoy playing Legend of Zelda, I don’t know where to go in its vast world, and need to have a game guide help me. I downloaded Mario 64 in the Virtual Console, but I don’t feel comfortable with the free-roaming style.
I yearned for a game where I didn’t need a guide to know where to go or what to do. I guess some people might find a side scroller confining. I think it lets me enjoy the game more than thinking about what I need to do to enjoy it. When I shared my desire for a sidescroller Mario, I was told that it was unlikely on the Wii, since current gen is all about 3D. However, SPM seems to be the answer to my wish. It also has 3D elements so it will add a twist to a game, which would be cool.
