My site has porn penalty on MSN?

With Google Analytics, I like to see how people find my site. I’ve seen a few people who used MSN get to my site simply by searching “Thu.” I tried to replicate the search but couldn’t see my site listed on the first page… who looks at any other page? :P

Today, I tried again and saw that my site showed up on the second page of MSN results. I also noticed that SafeSearch was set to Strict. So I tried switching to Moderate. My site then showed up on the first page.

Hmmm… what could this mean? Here’s how the setting is in MSN search settings:

SafeSearch

Choose how you want to filter results.

Strict – Filter sexually explicit text and image results
Moderate – Filter sexually explicit images only
Off – Do not filter search results

Note: Although SafeSearch uses advanced technology to filter sexually explicit content, no system of this type can be 100% accurate. We cannot guarantee that all sexually explicit content will be excluded. Learn more about filtering offensive sites.

Does this mean MSN considers my site has some “sexually explicit” content? I did edit out the O word in one post.

I generally don’t concern myself with MSN because it sends only a fraction of the traffic that Google sends me. But, it is the only way people looking for “Thu” can find my site. The same query doesn’t list my site in the first few pages of Google SERPs. :-|

Update: I checked out my Analytics info and saw one person found my site with [Thu] using Google. What the? I couldn’t see it. I have my preferences to show 20 results per page and didn’t see it within the first 2 pages. I tried turning off the filter and personalized search option and my site showed up on the second page (with 20 results per page), as #37. Is my site that naughty as to require filters be turned off to rank for my own first name? :P Then again, someone did come across my site as a result of searching for [getting whipped]…
